This role is available at our brand new Cenex® Zip Trip convenience store location in Billings, MT. It is a full‑time position with overtime pay, working 48 hours in a five‑day week with work schedule flexibility.
Base pay range$18.85/hr - $30.10/hr

- Serve as the lead support person in the daily operation of a retail store, providing guidance and training to other employees.
- Help ensure that safety procedures and accident handling procedures are followed.
- Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct.
- Help ensure that all customer complaints are addressed professionally.
- Support the store manager in assuring buildings, equipment and grounds are clean and inviting; merchandise is properly stocked, rotated and clean.
- Complete and balance paperwork and deposits accurately according to company guidelines.
- Set an example in ensuring that all employees comply with company cleanliness, grooming and uniform policies.
- Creatively address merchandise displays to attract attention and promote sales.
- Assist in enforcing all company standards, policies and guidelines, including state and local laws concerning sales of tobacco, alcohol, instant lottery tickets and Powerball tickets.
- Monitor cashier, vendor and customer activity and report theft or dishonesty.
- Authorize gas station pump payments.
- Enforce and uphold the credit policy.
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Retail and/or Retail Merchandising and Customer Service
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Previous experience in a team lead or leadership role, preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- Ability to work on computers with MS Office Suite
- High level of product knowledge in convenience store products, livestock or equine products, lawn and garden supplies, hardware, fencing, pet feed & supplies or related retail knowledge, preferred
- Pre‑employment screening may be required, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending on the position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Pay will vary based on experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, and minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
