As a Bench Repair Technician, you will play a key role in driving operational continuity across all regional routes. You’ll work closely with field staff and management to ensure high-level technical integrity and long-term equipment performance.
What you’ll doCore responsibilities- Evaluate component viability: Troubleshoot and test key electrical and mechanical subassemblies—such as printers, bill validators, logic boards, power supplies, and monitors to accurately determine whether parts can be cost-effectively repaired or require total replacement.
- Recondition & calibrate hardware: Clean, repair, and calibrate circuit boards and mechanical components using an array of precision hand instruments, soldering equipment, and fabrication tools to maintain a reliable stock of field-ready units.
- Prepare & program integrated circuits: Wipe, flash, and reprogram system software, operational logic, and configuration data across board-level components—including EPROMs, BIOS chips, microcontrollers, and solid-state drives to eliminate software errors and ensure strict compliance with state gaming and all other standards.
- Monitor & maintain asset logs: Record serialized part updates, repair histories, diagnostic findings, and software versions to maintain complete asset traceability, enforce quality control, and satisfy regulatory reporting standards.
- Deliver technical field support: Assist field technicians with live troubleshooting, software guidance, and emergency unit preparation to resolve location service calls quickly and maintain machine uptime.
- Coordinate hardware logistics & distribution: Work alongside route teams, management, and shipping personnel to identify high-urgency part needs, streamline repair turnarounds, and initiate software updates across customer locations.
- Assemble & stage equipment: Perform minor assembly, wiring, and diagnostic testing on hardware packages on an as-needed basis to ensure operational readiness prior to field shipment.
- Uphold workplace safety & environmental standards: Strictly adhere to shop safety protocols, utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure the proper disposal of hazardous component waste and electronics in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Proficient in root-cause diagnostics: Skilled in using structured troubleshooting, technical reasoning, and sound judgment to isolate complex mechanical and electrical faults and identify their underlying causes.
- Fluent in schematics interpretation: Ability to read and apply electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals to evaluate hardware, trace circuits, diagnose faults, and guide repair activities.
- Adept in board-level repair: Possesses the fine-motor skills, precision, and technical knowledge required to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components and circuitry.
