Adult Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator - Seasonal

The City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Department is seeking a seasonal Adult Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator.

Salary Range: $14.00 -- $16.00/hour

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (2-3 days per week)

• Weekdays (Monday - Thursday): 6:30 p.m.
  
  - 10:00 p.m.
• Sundays: 3:30 p.m.
  
  - 7:30 p.m.
• 2-3 games per night.
• Season runs January 4 – March 26, 2026.

As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Scorekeeper, you will serve the department's sports programs by providing scorekeeping duties during select activities. Applicants must be familiar with the rules and bylaws of the respective sports and can operate timing devices and/or the official scorebook for the designated sport. You must have the ability to quickly evaluate information and make decisions and judgment calls.

Applicants must be able to resolve conflicts and stay calm while handling disputes. Applicants must work well with children and adults.

• Professional behavior before and after sporting events.
• Operate scoreboard and/or timing device for designated sports.
• Perform routine clerical and technical work keeping score sheets and/or time clock.
• Communicate with coaches and umpires/referees.

• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Knowledge of basketball rules and bylaws preferred.
• Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, officials, and fans.
• Reliable transportation to and from games.
