Overview

Faculty Development – Senior at JBW Federal. JBW Federal is a subsidiary of the Kanaka Foundation, an NHO whose mission is to support Native Hawaiians.

Positions may be based at Joint Base San Antonio, TX, Hurlburt Field, FL, or Keesler, AFB, MS. Travel CONUS and OCONUS may be required. The role supports education and training for instructional staff within the 39th Information Operations Squadron (39 IOS).

Responsibilities
  • Identify the educational needs of instructors and developers.
  • Coordinate with the COR/government team lead on student instructor training plans.
  • Enter data into the CCAF Faculty Management Database and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct objective training evaluations in accordance with unit evaluation guidance and become a certified evaluator upon successful completion of required training.
  • Design and develop formal educational and training courses related to instruction, development, and formal training.
  • Plan and conduct train-the-trainer programs, courses, and seminars covering ISD, instructor methodologies, lesson development, test administration, and classroom procedures.
  • Design, develop, and integrate e-learning products (objectives, storyboards, web-based aids, or electronic performance support) into an LMS.
  • Plan, organize, and direct orientation and training programs for instructors across the DoD mission.
  • Support continuous learning programs and seminars to enhance instructor skills for in-residence courseware, MTT, and online ADL.
  • Present information using varied instructional techniques and formats, including role playing, simulations, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
  • Produce training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials (handouts, visual aids).
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing improvement recommendations.
  • Observe instructional staff and recommend changes to strengthen teaching effectiveness.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultations with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.
  • Develop and deliver training and staff development programs using effective methods (classroom, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, workshops).
  • Assist in preparing and conducting Instructor Training courses.
  • Design and conduct training to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Provide instruction on lesson preparation techniques, student questioning techniques, classroom management, and effective instructor-student relations for in-residence, MTT, and online ADL.
  • Teach theories related to adult learning and the responsibilities of instructors to students and leadership for instructional materials.
  • Provide instructional systems development techniques for in-residence courseware and MTT.
  • Instruct on authoring cognitive and performance objectives and associated assessment items.
  • Assist in authoring Plans of Instruction, course syllabi, lesson plan components, and laboratory guides to support Instructor Methodologies.
  • Instruct on authoring performance evaluations and constructing grading rubrics.
  • Analyze curriculum and training design principles, teaching methods, and methods for measuring training effects.
  • Analyze human behavior, motivation, performance, and individual learning styles to tailor instruction.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree
  • 800 documented hours instructing civilian or military faculty development courses (BIC, IMC, ISD, ADDIE) or equivalent
  • CCAF Instructor of Technology & Military Science Degree and/or proof of relevant courses (BIC, IMC) with minimum 3 semester hours
  • Collegiately Accredited Instructional Methods Course (BIC, IMC)
  • Air Force ISD Course (AETC ADDIE or equivalent)
  • CCAF Classroom Instructor Certification Level I (CIC
    2) or equivalent: 1K hours of documented formal training instruction for non-CCAF instructors
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS; passport required or obtainable within 60 days of employment
  • Clearance – Top Secret/SCI or Secret (Keesler)
