Bookkeeper

Description monday-friday contract to permanent onsite 8-5 $ 20-25/hr

The Bookkeeper / Contract Administrator is a dual-function role responsible for both contract administration on public and prevailing-wage construction projects and core bookkeeping for the company. On the contract administration side, this role manages state prequalification and reporting requirements, project setup and billing in Quick Books, bonding and insurance, and receivables follow-up. On the bookkeeping side, this role prepares month-end journal entries, reconciles the general ledger and job cost records, maintains balance sheet accounts, and supports the annual audit and insurance review.

Requirements
- Input new projects into Quick Books and define billing structure, timeline, and requirements.

- Provide prevailing wage documentation to the Payroll Administrator.

- Reconcile state agency-provided estimates to Quick Books and work with Estimating to resolve any variances.

- Prepare month-end journal entries for overhead allocation, general liability expense, and workers' compensation expense
- Maintain asset and depreciation accounts for additions and disposals. General Ledger & Job Cost Reconciliation
- Compare job cost records to the general ledger to confirm they balance to each other.

- Review expense accounts for correct posting of individual entries. Audit, Cash Management & Reporting
- Work with the company's CPA to complete the year-end review or audit.

- Maintain cash levels within bank accounts at appropriate levels, maximizing interest income.

- Complete the annual insurance audit for workers' compensation and general liability policies.

- Communicate financial results with owners.
