The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide part-time psychiatric services to youth (ages 7–18) in a residential treatment setting.

This role involves psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing consultation with care teams to ensure each youth receives holistic and culturally competent support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments

  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications

  • Provide crisis intervention and psychiatric consultation for acute needs

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings

  • Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation

  • Support trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate care approaches

Qualifications

MD or DO with completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
Valid and unrestricted NY State medical license (or ability to obtain)
Active DEA registration
Comfortable treating youth ages 7–18 and working with families
Familiarity with trauma-informed care models (e.g., TF-CBT, DBT) preferred
Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Experience
  • Treating youth involved in foster care, residential treatment, or juvenile justice systems

  • Practicing trauma-informed, culturally responsive psychiatric care

  • Working within interdisciplinary clinical teams
