Salary: $18–19 an hour
Position SummaryThe School Support Staff works collaboratively with classroom staff to provide additional emotional and behavioral support to students who struggle in school. They focus on preventing and managing crises to maintain an environment conducive to learning and help students re-enter programs following a crisis.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with students per the IEP, BIP, ICSP.
- Practice trained techniques in CARE, PBIS, TCI to support students in developing coping skills.
- Assist with the wake‑up routine on living units, prepare residents to meet expectations of the school day, and ensure transition to school.
- Attend to any student who leaves the classroom or school, help resolve the issue, and assist with reintegration while communicating relevant information to classroom staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings, trainings, and in Service opportunities to enhance job skills and promote professional growth.
- Complete required reports and documentation timely, meeting all standards of content and professional presentation.
- Role model positive social skills, maintain professional boundaries, and use sound judgment in decisions that impact students, coworkers, programs, and the Agency.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3 years of related experience, plus high school diploma/GED required.
- 2 years of related experience with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Driver’s license and ability to maintain insurance required.
