Title:

Staff Assistant (SL-2)

Salary: $55,000 - $58,000

The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites applicants for the position of Coordinator for Diversity Education for UDiversity Educational Institute. This is a fulltime in‑person position that works closely with an assistant director to provide support to faculty, staff and students throughout campus and within the community. The Institute provides workshops and guidance for engagement around issues of equity, classroom and workplace inclusion.

The coordinator for diversity education reports to the Assistant Director of UDiversity.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with delivering and facilitating diversity workshops to the campus (students, faculty, and staff) and local community.
  • Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify workshop needs to support the developmental needs of students, faculty, staff, and organizations.
  • Stay up to date with research and or best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility practices and/or theory. And participate in professional development opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and deliver programs and curriculum for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Respond to requests for workshops and prepare the materials accordingly.
  • Works closely with student employees/interns in the department to guide assistance with operational needs of the department.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of training and workshops by administering evaluations; identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Assist with tracking attendance for all participants for reporting needs.
  • Must have excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Responds to administrative assignments pertinent to the role and the division, as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in diversity education, corporate and/or policy compliance education
  • Experience organizing and building custom classes/training sessions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, learning platforms, and social media platforms
  • Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders and units within an organization
Preferred
  • Master's degree
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Experience with adult learners and online/hybrid students
