About Binghamton University:
Binghamton University is a premier public R1 research institution in the State University of New York (SUNY) system that unites more than 130 broadly interdisciplinary educational programs with some of the most vibrant research in the nation. Our unique character—shaped by our mission, outstanding academicsصح facilities, and community life—promotes extraordinary student success, research, and service. Working at Binghamton University is more than having a great job;
it is about having the opportunity to flourish in an exciting, engaging environment. Our faculty and staff appreciate Binghamton’s collegial and inclusive culture and its commitment to excellence, education, innovation, and civic engagement. Our diverse campus community contributes to our success. Binghamton merges rigorous academics, distinguished faculty who value cutting‑edge research, community‑engaged teaching and service, exceptional staff, and ultramodern facilities to engage and challenge its 18,000+ students.
We are seeking tenure‑ faculty members (Assistant or Associate) to join our Department of Social Work. This department offers a long‑standing in‑person MSW program, a growing exclusively online program, and a burgeoning BSW program. The Department of Social Work is part of Binghamton University’s College of Community and Public Affairs, which includes five departments and an interdisciplinary doctoral program in Community Research and Action.
Our faculty frequently partner with local agencies, and the college is close to the heart of the city of Binghamton.
We seek scholar‑educators whose work supports evidence‑based, ethically‑sound social work practice and aligns with current federal priorities in behavioral health, child welfare, and community well‑being. Successful candidates will employ an inclusive, competency‑based pedagogy to teach two courses per semester across our BSW, MSW in‑person, and online asynchronous MSW programmes. They will also advance an externally‑funded research program with strong potential for support from NIH, HRSA, ACF, DoD, and foundations or similar agencies.
Scholars will collaborate with internal colleagues, regional agencies, and interdisciplinary CCPA partners to expand the academic reach of the Department, College, and University. They will contribute to CSWE accreditation, Title IX, and other federal/state compliance processes. All faculty enjoy start‑up support, competitive salaries, and the opportunity to work in a public R1 environment that values innovation and community impact.
