Mechanical Engineering Technician

This team member will play a critical role within our MEP team, leading mechanical system designs, performing complex calculations, selecting equipment, and managing the preparation of engineering documents. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, energy codes, and best practices for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the design of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems.

Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, system sizing, and equipment selection for various projects.

Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to develop and refine engineering designs and construction documents.

Research and ensure compliance with building codes, energy efficiency requirements, and industry standards.

Manage projects independently or alongside senior engineers, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.

Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and knowledge-sharing.

Assist in client communications, site visits, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, and cost estimates.

Full-time

5-9 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC design, or a related field.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering software for mechanical system design.

Strong leadership, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and energy-efficient mechanical systems.

Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or is working toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
