Position Overview Responsible for coordinating activities to monitor physician documentation in the medical record with regards to applicable regulations and billing to support services rendered. Provides education to physicians and coders concerning documentation improvement opportunities for both facility and professional billing. Researches, analyzes, and responds to inquiries regarding coding and documentation compliance per all coding guidelines and Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Assists with coding, documentation, and billing questions to ensure compliant coding and billing.
Develops education materials to address issues or new requirements and presents them to providers or other appropriate staff. Identifies education opportunities based on industry performance, regulatory focus areas, and risk areas within the organization.
$27.80 - $41.69 per hour, depending on experience.
ScheduleDay shift, 40 hours per week.
Education & ExperienceMinimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma with RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS or CCA certification
- One year of experience in Coding and Provider Education
Preferred:
- Associate’s Degree with RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS or CCA certification
- 3 years of education experience in the health care field
- CPC or RHIT or RHIA or CCS or CCA
