Location: City of BinghamtonCatholic Charities of Broome County — Care Manager – Level 2 Recreational Therapist, Boys Community Residence Salary range $21.00–$23.64/hr fsla (Non-Exempt) Qualifications Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances.Therapeutic Recreation and National Council Therapeutic Recreation Certification eligibility is preferred.Skills
Good organizational and time management skillsGood oral/written communication skillsGood interpersonal skillsKnowledge of community agencies and resourcesAbility to work with service providersFamiliar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY StateII. RESPONSIBLE TO:
Program Supervisor
Major Functions
Organize and conduct social/recreational/cultural activitiesDevelop a comprehensive activity/recreation plan for each resident to build assets and self-esteemDevelop community contacts and resources to support social, recreational, cultural activities.Provide individualized skill assessment, instruction and supervisionAccompany, supervise, and provide transportation for activitiesAssist families in planning activities for children on home visits and in engaging children in activitiesHelp families locate resources in their own communities to support the child and family’ s social/recreational and cultural needPlan school break activitiesCoordinate extensively with Program Supervisor and StaffMaintain case notes on all clients in the programs as required by the programParticipate in and successfully complete all required staff training and development activitiesRepresent the agency and program in the community and with other service providersParticipate in team meetingsPerform other job related activities as directed by supervisorUnderstand and follow all program policies and proceduresIn compliance with all applicable government laws, rules, regulations and standards and all Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures the duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the above.
