** Position Overview
** The Inpatient Coder Level 3 is a senior-level position responsible for coding high-complexity inpatient records with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires expert-level knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems, MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment, and comprehensive understanding of clinical documentation. The Level 3 coder ensures coding compliance, supports training and mentoring of junior staff, and contributes to audit and quality improvement efforts within the HIM department.

* * Compensation Range:**$33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate proficient understanding of complex clinical scenarios, including comorbidities and complications.
* Analyze detailed clinical documentation to identify relevant clinical indicators ensuring coding accuracy.
* Perform and respond to physician documentation queries in a timely and professional manner.
* Apply advanced knowledge of
** ICD-10-CM
** and
** ICD-10-PCS
** coding systems.
* Participate in quality assurance activities and perform basic auditing to maintain compliance.
* Exhibit strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in coding and documentation review.
* Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams to clarify documentation.
* Work independently while meeting and maintaining established productivity and accuracy standards.
* Assist in mentoring Level I coders or onboarding new team members as needed.#

* 5+ years of inpatient coding experience
* CIC Certification Preferred:
