Immediate opening in Binghamton, NY. The role requires 1–2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant. The successful candidate will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education, and maintaining a sterile environment.

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, including pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as a communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home‑care needs.
• Provide basic bedside care and maintain the sterile field during surgery.

• Respond to patient comfort and safety needs.
• Accurately handle specimens.
• Monitor surgical equipment.
• Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.

• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.

• Assist physicians with direct surgical care.
• Help control bleeding.
• Suture patients following surgery.

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. Ability to lift 20 lbs easily and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary. Exposure to chemicals, infectious diseases, and other operating‑room hazards is possible.

• BLS certification.
• Minimum three years of nursing experience (recent acute care). Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
