Location: City of Binghamton
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment, delivering coordinated, safe, compassionate, evidence-based quality care to patients and families based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care.
- Develop, update, and coordinate the patients' plan of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Perform and maintain essential competencies as required by the unit and population served.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning.
- Facilitate learning for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
- Align practice with safety and quality by identifying and correcting problems and integrating evidence and best practice.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and practice at the top of the license within legal parameters.
- Lead as a change agent using collaborative leadership skills of advocacy, influence, and innovation.
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment.
- At least one year of experience; less than one year experience acceptable if transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program.
- Maintain BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certification unit dependent.
- BSN in Nursing preferred;
Specialty Certification preferred.
- Registered Nurse, State of Practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification unit dependent.
- PALS certification unit dependent.
- Proficiency in information technology, such as electronic health records and communication systems.
- Work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
- Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations.
Normal office environment with exposure to patient materials and standard care activities.
Payrate$39 to $54.12
