Position Summary
The Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise; facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among all team members. The Nurse Manager promotes a climate for effective performance while allocating available resources to promote efficient, effective, and quality nursing/patient care. The Nurse Manager contributes to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes, day‑to‑day operations, and attainment of organizational and departmental goals.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the total management and administrative functions of the Department, inclusive of resolution of coverage and scheduling issues. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal, regulatory compliance and distribution and usage of material resources, as well as the total environment of the nursing division on a twenty‑four hour basis.
& Qualifications
Candidate must have five years nursing experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated abilities in leadership. The nurse manager must possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Master’s degree preferred. Certification in the area of specialty and/or leadership is preferred.
Essential Functions- Focus on performance improvement.
- Establish goals, activities to meet goals, and measurement for success in alliance with the overall organizational goals.
- Establish goals and measurement process for population specific Nursing Performance reports and assure ongoing measurement and communication of current status.
- Maintain interdisciplinary approach through promotion and participation in hospital/community committee/activities.
- Recognize and identify actual or potential situations which may place the health care system at risk for corporate compliance. Communicate appropriately to administrator and/or follow defined policy for addressing the situation.
- Establish interdisciplinary work teams to enhance patient care outcomes specific to primary patient population on the unit.
- Actively work to achieve patient care outcomes at or above the benchmark for the designated population.
- Meet regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate Unit Council meetings/staff meetings for defined area(s) of responsibility meeting the needs of each shift/unit.
- Demonstrate and enforce compliance with hospital, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Demonstrate and integrate population specific care for the adolescent/adult/geriatric/pediatric patient and appropriate standards of care and practice.
- Remain fiscally responsible and strive to meet budgetary targets.
- Anticipate, monitor, and adjust human and material resources appropriate to volume and patient acuity level.
- Integrate clinical, financial, and operational data and evaluate the impact upon patient clinical and financial outcomes. Initiate and provide leadership for performance improvement activities as appropriate based upon outcomes data.
- Monitor throughput times and collaborate with others to meet hospital goals.
- Strive to attain and maintain an exceptional patient/customer satisfaction measured at or above benchmark mean.

Pay Range$48.11 – $75.08 per hour.
