Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a NY license, two years of ED experience, and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department with a combined adult and pediatric population
- Experience in both general and pediatric emergency care is preferred
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–7:30)
- Epic is used for charting and prior experience is required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Provide emergency nursing care for both adult and pediatric patients
- May care for patients with neurological, spinal, orthopedic trauma, and near-drowning incidents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in a fast-paced trauma setting
- Compliance with facility dress code is mandatory
- Candidates must commit to annual stroke education per hospital requirements
- Active NY RN license in hand at the time of consideration
- Minimum two years of prior Emergency Department experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy and phlebotomy, procedural and continuous sedation, neuro and ortho-trauma, and ventilated patients
- Experience with triage, interpretation of ABGs, CPAP/BiPAP, stroke, shock and trauma cases required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must complete 8 hours of stroke education annually (can be completed onsite if not current)
- FEMA awareness required
- First time travelers are not accepted
- Returning travelers must not have been employed at any Guthrie facility in the previous year
