Painter

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and applying primer.
• Mix and match paints to achieve desired color and consistency.
• Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect adjacent areas.
• Inspect painted surfaces for uniformity and smoothness, and make touch-ups as needed.
• Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear to minimize exposure to fumes and chemicals.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and to specifications.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a painter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with painting materials and techniques.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with spray painting and specialized coatings.
• Education in OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Work Environment:
  Indoor and outdoor settings.
• May involve working on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
• Exposure to paint fumes and chemicals.
