SEND Teaching Assistant – PMLD

Location: Bingley, West Yorkshire
Setting: Special Educational Needs (SEN) School
Contract: Full-time and part-time roles available

Salary: £90-£100 per day

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Bingley. This role involves supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them to access education, communication and care in a safe, nurturing environment.

This is a highly rewarding, hands‑on role and applicants must be comfortable providing personal care and supporting pupils with complex physical, medical and sensory needs.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD
• Support pupils with personal care, including toileting, feeding and changing, ensuring dignity at all times
• Assist with mobility, positioning and specialist equipment (training provided)
• Support sensory‑based learning activities and communication strategies
• Promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing, engagement and independence
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and medical professionals
• Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs (desirable)
• A caring, patient and flexible approach
• Confidence and willingness to carry out personal care duties
  
  Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
• Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
