We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Medical Secretary to join our busy and friendly practice team. This is a part-time position for 13 hours per week, worked across 3 days
, offering an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to delivering high-quality administrative support.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinicians and the wider practice team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of referral management, correspondence handling, patient communication, and general administrative processes, while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.

Main duties of the jobTo provide general secretarial and admin support to the clinical team, involving the use of Lexacom, MS Word and admin duties.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Previous experience in a medical or NHS setting is desirable, along with a good understanding of medical terminology and clinical systems.

Job responsibilitiesTo provide an efficient auto script and typing service for the GPs as required. This includes typing letters, reports, patient referrals etc, in an accurate, professional manner.
To make appointments and booking as required.
To share management of private reports.
To manage Envisage TV to ensure correct seasonal and updated information is being played on the system.
To cover reception on Friday afternoons during holidays and sickness as required.
Person Specification Qualifications- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Experience working in a medical secretarial role.
- Excellent written and communication skills essential.
- Knowledge of EMIS.
- Knowledge of ERS.
- Experience of working in a GP surgery.
