Receptionist/Administrator 34 - 37 hours
We are a busy GP Training Practice in the heart of Wallasey Village. We are looking to recruit aReception/Administrator with General Practice experience. You must have excellent communication, organisational and computer skills. If you are highly motivated and committed to delivering excellent standards of patient care thenwe would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the jobCandidates must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, a polite telephone manner and good IT skills. Experience of working in General Practice is preferred. The role requires a flexible approach to working to provide additional cover when required.
The purpose of this role is to deliver a high level ofcustomer care to patients. The receptionists are front-line and should promotea professional and friendly image to patients and visitors at all times. Theyalso provide an essential support function to the clinical and management teams.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, and be prepared to be front facing as well as dealing with enquiries via telephone. The scopeof the role is wide ranging. You will be supported by an experienced Reception Team Manager.
About usOur friendly team consists of 5 Partners 2 Salaried GPs, 2
Registrars, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and is supported by a team of Reception/Administrators.
Receptionist/Administrator Job Description Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors to the practice
- Actively signpost and care navigate patients to appropriate services
- Answer calls in a timely, professional and courteous manner
- Book, amend and cancel appointments for all clinicians
- Deal with tasks from clinicians, management and external organisations
- Process repeat prescriptions and ensure timely actions
- Deal with clinical correspondence and scanning Advise patients of processes and relevant charges for non-NHS services
- Manage the patient flow within the waiting area and kept neat and tidy at all times
- Re-stocking of clinicians rooms with stationary
- Open up and close down the building ensuring all security guidelines are followed
- Attend and engage in meetings and training
- Work flexibly, providing cover as and when necessary to ensure the smooth running of the practice and delivery of excellent patient care
- Work within the legislative requirements, practice policies, procedures and protocols at all times.

- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Proficient in IT
- Experience of working with customers/patients in a fast paced environment.
- Experience of working in primary care
- Experience of working in a GP practice
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic IT skills
