Eventus Recruitment Group are seeking a Wills & Probate Assistant for a successful and supportive law firm based in Birkenhead, Wirral. This is a full-time, permanent job offering hybrid working after initial training, free on-site parking, excellent employee benefits and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a well-established Private Client department.

Job Responsibilities

The incoming Wills & Probate Assistant will provide high-quality support to the Private Client team, assisting with Wills and Probate matters and ensuring clients receive exceptional service throughout their journey. This is an excellent job for anyone seeking to develop their experience within Wills & Probate, Private Client Administration, or Estate Administration.

  • Communicating with clients and third parties via telephone, email and post
  • Assisting fee earners with progressing Wills and Estate Administration files
  • Managing diaries, arranging appointments and supporting day‑to‑day case progression
  • Completing CREDAS s
  • Helping prepare bills and requesting client payments
  • Scanning documentation, maintaining organised files and supporting general administrative processes
  • Accurate data entry and time recording using the case management system
  • Providing initial advice, signposting clients and offering quotes
  • Managing the Will storage bank and handling Will trace enquiries

Full training and ongoing supervision will be provided. This job requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and excellent communication skills.

Person Specification

The successful Wills & Probate Assistant will be an organised and client-focused individual with a proactive approach to work. You will ideally have previous experience within an office, customer service or administrative environment, and the ability to learn quickly in a legal setting.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confident telephone manner
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and good written communication
  • Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of filing systems and data entry
  • Enthusiasm, reliability and a flexible approach to work
Desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience in a Wills & Probate, Private Client or legal support job
  • Experience using Proclaim or similar case management systems
  • A reasonable understanding of Wills and Probate processes
  • 2 or more A-Levels or equivalent qualification
