Health & Safety Officer (x2)
About the Role:
We are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced Health & Safety Officers to join our established Health & Safety team and help drive continuous improvements in health, safety and wellbeing across our organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work primarily within the Wirral schools’ network, supporting Headteachers and School Governors to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities and maintain compliant, safe, and healthy learning environments.
No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. You ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of health and safety topics, providing practical advice, guidance and support to schools. We re looking for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, inspiring others, and making a real difference within the local community.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to prioritise competing demands, and confident delivering support through face-to-face engagement, online platforms, and electronic communication channels.
About the Candidate:
You will hold a recognised Level 6 Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management and have a thorough understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
We are seeking a customer-focused professional with:
- Significant and demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety role
- Experience of auditing health and safety management systems
- Proven experience conducting accident and incident investigations
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- The confidence and ability to work independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a Health & Safety and Occupational Health team
- A proactive, supportive and professional approach to service delivery
- A passion for engaging and influencing others to promote positive health and safety culture
