Compliance & CDM Manager
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking Compliance and CDM Manager to lead and develop our corporate approach to building safety, asset compliance, and Construction Design and Management (CDM) across the Council's diverse property portfolio and project programme.
This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the Council meets its statutory, regulatory, and governance responsibilities while maintaining the highest standards of building, resident, and project safety.
About the Role:
As the Council's lead competent person and senior advisor for statutory compliance, building safety, and CDM, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across the organisation. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our compliance assurance framework, safety governance arrangements, and project management practices.
Working closely with senior leaders, project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the Council.
About the candidate:
We're looking for a knowledgeable and inspiring professional who can demonstrate:
- Significant experience in building safety, statutory compliance, asset management, or CDM-related disciplines.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with experience of managing teams and resources.
- A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice relating to building and project safety.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to influence, engage, and build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A commitment to delivering high standards of governance, compliance, and customer-focused services.
