Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school on the Wirral who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team from January 2026 until the end of the Summer Term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or early career teacher who can deliver engaging, creative lessons and foster a positive learning environment where all children can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.

Support pupils in developing their phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy skills.

Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and confidence.

Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and senior staff.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues to support pupil development.

Take part in all aspects of school life including staff meetings, parent consultations, and school events.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 1.

Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics teaching.

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
