If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Secondary SEN Cover Supervisor.
The Educate Group are looking for dedicated SEN teachers to work in a specialised setting across Key stage 3 and 4. You will be committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have the ability to foster resilience, self-esteem, and academic growth, enabling students to reach their full potential. You will become a part of a highly skilled and collaborative team, striving to make education accessible, meaningful, and transformative.
This role will suit both an experienced SEMH teacher or a teaching assistant starting out on a career in this specialised area of education.
Responsibilities
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, maintaining a productive and respectful classroom atmosphere
- Implement planned lessons and activities provided by teachers, ensuring continuity of learning
- Manage student behavior effectively, promoting positive discipline and engagement
- Support students with their learning tasks, providing guidance and encouragement as needed
- Monitor student progress and report any issues or concerns to teaching staff promptly
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up materials and maintaining a tidy learning environment
- Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe and inclusive space for all students
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with SEN/SEMH students or in educational settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young learners
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior confidently and professionally
- Higher education teaching or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
- Experience in education administration or university experience can be beneficial for understanding school operations
- A proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills and adaptability
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse student needs
