About the RoleTeaching Personnel are seeking a patient, understanding, and motivated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 ASC support for a Year 4 pupil in a warm and inclusive primary school in Birkenhead.
This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s learning, emotional wellbeing, and daily school experience, while also developing valuable skills in SEND support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASC, helping them access learning throughout the school day.
- Implement tailored strategies that promote focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons, supporting differentiation, and maintaining positive behaviour.
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and wider staff team to ensure coordinated support.
- Maintain clear and supportive communication with the pupil’s parents/carers.
- Encourage positive social interactions, helping the pupil build confidence and form meaningful peer relationships.
- Provides a broad and balanced curriculum, including core subjects plus Art, Music, PE, and ICT.
- Known for its friendly, inclusive, and nurturing environment, encouraging every child to reach their full potential.
- Offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, drama, and music.
- Strong community links and a commitment to working closely with families and local organisations.
- The school is well‑connected to local transport, with excellent access to buses and nearby rail links — ideal for commuting staff.
- Experience supporting children with ASC or additional learning needs.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and prioritising pupil wellbeing.
- Patience, empathy, and confident behaviour‑support skills.
- Level 2/3 TA qualification (desired but not essential).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Competitive weekly pay via PAYE.

- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
