Salary: £450- 475 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

About the Role

Connex Education is partnering with a Primary School in Birkenhead to recruit a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting children in small groups, doing phonics, maths and English work. You will also be in the classroom, providing support to the entire class and supporting the class teacher.

Assignment Details

This role runs Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm). The position starts after February half term 2026 and is likely to continue long term for the right person.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
  • Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.

  • Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a school setting.
