Think FE are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive further education college in Merseyside to recruit a Foundation Learning and Maths Tutor. This is a temporary position starting as soon as possible, with an initial minimum 10-week contract and the potential for extension.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support small groups of SEND learners ( students per class), delivering engaging and supportive sessions focused on foundation learning, life skills and low-level maths (GCSE grade 1 2 equivalent).

The Role You will:

• Teach foundation learning and maths to SEND students in a further education setting
• Deliver creative, inclusive and differentiated lessons
• Support learners who may display challenging behaviour and require a trauma-informed approach
• Work 24 hours per week (13 hours teaching, 13 hours planning and preparation)
• Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment

What We re Looking For

• A qualified teacher with experience in SEND, Foundation Learning or Further Education
• Strong understanding of low-level maths delivery
• Experience using a trauma-informed approach in teaching and learning
• A proactive and resilient educator who can adapt to varying learner needs
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

This role would particularly suit someone with experience in foundation learning programmes who is confident supporting students with diverse educational needs.
