SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision
Location: Birkenhead & across Wirral
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent or Supply Options Available
Start Date: September 2026
Teaching Personnel’s Wirral branch is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a well-established Alternative Provision in Birkenhead
, with additional sites across the Wirral.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives in a supportive yet challenging environment, working with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering engaging and tailored lessons, primarily focused on STEM subjects
, to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Challenging behaviours
- Barriers to mainstream education
You will play a key role in creating a positive, safe and structured learning environment, supporting students both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality STEM lessons differentiated to meet individual needs
- Manage and support students displaying challenging behaviours
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Track student progress and contribute to individual learning plans
- Proven experience as an SEN Teacher is essential
- Strong background working with SEMH and challenging behaviours
- Ability to engage and motivate students who may be disengaged from education
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (QTLS)
- Resilient, patient and adaptable approach
- Competitive salary between £30,000 - £40,000
