Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Bebington who are seeking a dedicated Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a dedicated SEND base and mainstream classroom environments. You will work with children who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The school are looking for a compassionate and reliable individual who can provide consistency, structure and positive encouragement, helping pupils to access learning and thrive both academically and socially.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
Support children with Autism, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs.
Work within the school's specialist SEND base as well as mainstream classrooms where required.
Adapt learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
Encourage independence, communication and confidence.
Help create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

Essential Experience &

Qualifications:

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Knowledge of Autism, ADHD and communication needs is highly beneficial.
Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
Care, residential or youth work experience will also be considered where relevant.
Applications without relevant SEND support experience may not be shortlisted.
