Bank Staff - Education and Early Years Lecturer

Wirral Met College are currently looking for Lecturer’s in Education and Early Yearsto support our Health, Social Care and Early Years department on an ad hoc basis.

Bank staff are paid at an hourly rate.

Job Purpose

To assist in the development, organisation and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning in Early Years, primarily focusing on 16-18 provision and Higher Education

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out formal scheduled teaching on programmes ranging from level 1 to 3.
  • Undertake a personal tutor and/or programme leader role to groups of students to maintain high achievement rates.
  • Prepare schemes of work, session plans and learning materials.
  • Carry out student assessments and mark students’ work and examinations and provide feedback to students and set targets for improvement.
Qualifications Experience
  • Level 2 or above English/literacy qualifications
  • Level 2 or above Maths/numeracy qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in early year, education or social sciences or a related area.
  • Recognised full teaching qualification or be working toward.
  • Have experience of working with children.
  • Able to evidence successful experience of teaching, training or assessing groups of students.
