Make a difference where it matters most
Simply Education is recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join a small, supportive specialist education setting in the Hamilton Square area of Wirral.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to step away from the traditional mainstream classroom and work in an environment where relationships, personalised learning and helping young people re-engage with education are at the heart of everything they do.
The provision supports children and young people who have experienced a range of barriers to learning. Pupils may have SEND, SEMH needs, communication difficulties or disrupted educational experiences, meaning a flexible and understanding approach to teaching is essential.
You don't necessarily need to be a qualified teacher. Unqualified teachers with the right experience, confidence and passion for supporting young people are encouraged to apply.
The RoleYou'll be responsible for creating engaging and accessible learning opportunities while building positive, consistent relationships with your pupils.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons.
- Adapting teaching to meet different abilities, learning styles and additional needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and barriers to learning.
- Helping young people rebuild their confidence and develop a positive relationship with education.
- Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
- Using relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour.
- Monitoring progress and celebrating individual achievements.
- Providing pastoral support and acting as a positive, consistent role model.
- Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Supporting pupils with transitions and their next steps in education.
We're interested in hearing from qualified and unqualified teachers who genuinely want to improve outcomes for young people.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A degree or relevant qualification.
- GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
- QTS or QTLS - desirable, but not essential.
- Experience working with children or young people.
- SEND, SEMH or Alternative Provision experience - desirable.
- A patient, resilient and flexible approach.
- The confidence to establish positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
- A creative approach to teaching and engaging learners who may have struggled in mainstream education.
- Unqualified Teacher: £28,000 - £29,900 per year
- Qualified Teacher: £30,900 - £41,200 per year
This is an opportunity to work within a smaller specialist setting where you'll have the chance to really get to know your pupils and see the impact of your work.
You'll benefit from:
- Term-time-only working
- Permanent, full-time employment
- Smaller and more personalised learning environments
- Supportive colleagues and leadership
- Training and professional development
- The opportunity to develop specialist SEND and SEMH experience
- A role where your relationships with pupils can make a genuine difference to their education and future
