Library Information Assistant – Casual

Libraries are more than a collection of books; they are hubs for community activities, places to access digital technology, and gateways to reading, information and wellbeing. Wirral Libraries exist to help people to live better lives for longer.

We are looking to appoint several enthusiastic casual Library Information Assistants, who are passionate about reading, library services and their communities.

About the role

You will help to deliver and support a programme of activities and library events, proactively helping people of all ages and from all backgrounds. You will support the provision of information and advice on council and partner services, acting as the first point of contact to help residents achieve better outcomes.

Flexibility is key. You may be helping customers log on to the library Wi‑Fi, assisting with e‑book downloads, or leading events such as Baby Rhyme Time sessions for parents and babies. The variety of work means that no two days are the same, so initiative and the ability to work without supervision are essential.
