Through their programme of work, Senior Internal Auditors challenge existing processes, identifying inefficiency, waste or fraud, and look for innovative and creative ways to improve the way the Council works.
At Wirral Council, Internal Audit has a pivotal role in helping the organisation manage risks and is a positive catalyst for change.
This is a great opportunity to develop your career in local government, within a forward-thinking and inventive Internal Audit team, working within an innovative and supportive Council. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will have responsibility for managing the delivery of your own varied portfolio of work, which may also include fraud investigations. Our supportive team environment will ensure that you can develop your skills across all areas of audit, through working closely with experienced colleagues.
Your work will provide assurance on the effectiveness of the organisation's risk management, governance, policy and internal control processes, and you will work with audit clients to agree far-reaching improvements and innovations based on your own ideas and recommendations.
About the CandidateSuccessful applicants will be passionate about improving the public sector. They will be team players and great communicators, with the desire to think innovatively and strategically about how to improve the way systems and services work, challenge current processes, and work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation.
