6-month fixed term contract

We're looking for two emergency planning professionals to join Wirral's Community Safety service, to lead a focused programme of plan development for the Council.

The Council's resilience function: one day you might be updating a hazard-specific plan or briefing elected members, the next you could be supporting a live incident response or leading a multi-agency exercise.

About the Role

This is a plan-writing role first and foremost. You'll draft, review and update the Council's emergency plans against an agreed work programme, consulting Council services and partner agencies to gather what's needed and making sure everything reflects the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, relevant regulations and current resilience guidance. You'll also pick up some supporting tasks along the way, such as supporting training sessions and contributing to horizon scanning.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of writing or contributing to emergency plans, business continuity plans, procedures or similar technical/operational documents. You will have the ability to engage and consult with stakeholders to gather information and convert technical or legislative source material into clear, usable documents.
