Clinical Support Worker - Pre Operative Assessment

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Support Worker to join our Pre-Operative Assessment team.

The successful candidate will work in support of and under the direction of a Pre‑Operative Assessment Department, providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Pre‑Operative Assessment Nurse.

• Provide and support patients as necessary with both personal and clinical care activities.
• Maintain accurate records of the patient's care, documenting as appropriate on the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner) in line with Trust, professional and departmental guidelines.
• Observe patients and report any changes to a Registered professional for review.
• Report any abnormal findings directly to the registered professional in charge or doctor.
• Undertake a range of basic housekeeping, stock control and administrative duties within the clinical environment.

• Level 3 qualification (e.g. A‑Levels, NVQ3) in Health & Social Care OR a good standard of education to A‑Level standard and the agreement to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification on appointment.
• Experience working in a clinical environment and undertaking a range of relevant clinical skills with proven competencies.
• Experience working in the NHS.

• Evidence of competence in relevant specialist skills or tasks.
• Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of a Clinical Support Worker.
• Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment.
• Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence.
• Able to provide support and reassurance to patients.

• Ability to work well as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
• A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback.
• Polite, friendly, approachable and self‑motivated.
