To support the production and assembly of high‑integrity ductwork, pipework and associated systems in a controlled factory environment. The Multiskilled Operative will work across various production functions, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency, in line with project specifications and manufacturing schedules.

• Operate and maintain a variety of fabrication and assembly equipment (e.g., cutting machines, welding gear, forming tools, pressure testing rigs).
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturing specifications, and work instructions to fabricate and assemble products accurately.
• Undertake tasks across multiple disciplines, including ductwork fabrication (e.g., rectangular and circular sections), pipework preparation and assembly (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel), mechanical fitting and assembly, basic welding and tack welding (as qualified), quality control checks and documentation, pressure and leak testing (hydrostatic, pneumatic) where required, rigging and movement of large components and modules using lifting equipment, support of lean manufacturing principles (5S, continuous improvement, waste reduction), maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping, record and report non‑conformities and contribute to root cause analysis, collaborate with engineering, QA and logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow, and take part in training and cross‑skilling to enhance team flexibility and capability.

• Strong practical and mechanical skills
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Competence in using hand and power tools
• Knowledge of safe workshop practices and PPE requirements
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Flexibility and willingness to work across different tasks and areas
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive and able to work under own initiative

Essential

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, mechanical or fabrication environment
• Experience in ductwork or pipework assembly, fitting or fabrication
• Understanding of HSE procedures and quality standards in a production setting

Desirable

• NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant trade (e.g., Engineering, Fabrication & Welding, Pipe fitting)
• CSCS / CCNSG / Safety Passport (as applicable)
• Forklift, overhead crane or MEWP certifications
• Welding or brazing qualifications (e.g., coded welder)
