Key Responsibilities- Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux‑cored welding, based on project specifications.
- Set up welding machines and select appropriate materials, processes, and techniques for each job.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Ensure that work meets required tolerances and quality standards.
- Inspect welds for quality, including checking for strength, penetration, and appearance.
- Conduct tests on completed welds (e.g., visual inspection, ultrasonic testing) to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain and clean welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Participate in safety training and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and project teams to ensure timely project completion.
- Communicate effectively regarding project progress, issues, and changes in specifications.
- Welding Apprenticeship or an equivalent Apprenticeship in a Welding discipline or Level 2 Diploma in a Welding discipline or equivalent Level 2/3 Certificate in Welding and Engineering Craft Studies
- Hold time served status with an official apprenticeship.
- BS EN ISO 9606 Coded Welding Qualification.
- Experience of TIG Welding of QC1 Stainless Steel and mild steel Ductwork.
- Understand the basic Company Protocols with regard to accidents and Incident’s investigations.
- Understanding of manufacturing tolerances.
