Production Picker
Location: Bromborough, Merseyside, North West England
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Salary: £13.49 - £17.94 per hour
Job DescriptionThe Production Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, collecting and preparing materials and products required for manufacturing or packaging processes within a production environment. This role involves working efficiently to meet production targets whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The position requires close attention to detail to ensure that items are picked according to specified instructions and that inventory records are kept up to date.
KeyDuties and Responsibilities
- Pick and collect materials, components or finished goods from designated storage areas in accordance with production requirements.
- Check items against production orders or pick lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare picked items for delivery to production lines or despatch areas, ensuring correct labelling and packaging where necessary.
- Maintain an organised and clean work area to support efficient workflow and safety standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks or trolleys safely and in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged goods or shortages to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist with stock control activities including stock rotation, counting and recording of inventory.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to accurately read pick lists and record data.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions carefully.
- General Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production or manufacturing.
- Experience using manual handling equipment is beneficial.
- Previous picking experience.
- Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy in picking and checking items.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practises in a production or warehouse setting.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards.
- Good communication skills to follow instructions and report issues clearly.
- Physical fitness and stamina to undertake manual handling and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Certification in manual handling or warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with stock management systems or inventory software is beneficial.
- Work is predominantly carried out in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- The role involves manual handling of materials and products, including lifting, carrying and moving items.
- Employees are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
- Shift patterns may vary and include early mornings, late evenings or weekends depending on production demands.
- The role requires adherence to strict health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Very fast paced
- Shifts are 3 on 3 off
