Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are looking for a time-served Manual Machinist with good experience of manual/conventional (non-CNC) Turning, Milling and Boring machines.
It's a great opportunity to work in a long-established, multi-branch electro/mechanical engineering business offering a variety of machining work in their Liverpool workshop, with overtime and occasional site work. You will also have opportunities to enhance your skill set with training in electro‑mechanical services unique to this business.
The company has a thriving mechanical engineering workshop in Liverpool able to provide a complete turnkey electro‑mechanical service. Hours of work are 8am to 4:30pm Mon - Fri, with overtime available, and “on‑call” one weekend in four/five during busy periods. Night Shift (4:30pm to 1am) working is also available, either permanent or rotating days and nights.
Responsibilities- Manufacture and repair of parts, using manual (non‑CNC) lathes, milling & boring machines.
- Work overtime subject to workload and emergency service requirements.
- Provide cover when on call (one week in four/five).
- Mostly workshop based with occasional work on-site.
- Training in new techniques/skill sets will be provided as required.
- A Structured Development Programme with incremental pay structure.
The company offers a competitive salary of £14‑17 per hour and an OTE of £30,000‑50,000 per annum depending on shift pattern. Higher rates are based on experience and performance. Other benefits include company pension, death in service benefit, 4 weeks paid holiday (increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years) + bank holidays.
