Recruit4staff  are representing a well-established shipbuilding and engineering business in their search for a  Plater  to work in  Birkenhead
Job Details:
Pay: £21.51 per hour. Overtime Monday to Saturday is paid at x1.5 (£32.27 per hour), with Sunday overtime paid at x2 (£43.02 per hour).
Hours of Work:
Core working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a 2:30pm finish on Friday. Overtime is available after core hours and ation:

Job Role:

As a  Plater , you will fabricate structural components and prepare heavy-gauge steel plates using methods including oxy-fuel gas cutting and hand grinding. The role involves fitting, fairing and tack welding steelwork, interpreting engineering drawings, and operating a range of tools and machinery. The  Plater  will also assemble components using lifting gear, undertake pressure testing, drilling and lock fitting, and finish assemblies to a high standard while adhering to health and safety procedures.
Essential Skills, Experience, or

Qualifications:

Proven expertise in heavy-gauge fabrication and plating work within a  Plater  role.

Experience with in the marine, nuclear, steel fabrication, offshore, petrochemical or construction industries.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability and willingness to complete BPSS checks and undergo the process required to gain SC clearance.
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Fabrication or Plating.
Significant experience within the marine, ship repair or shipbuilding sector as a  Plater  or in a similar fabrication position.
Additional Information

Half-shift overtime is available Monday to Friday between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
Saturday and Sunday overtime hours are 8:00am to 2:00pm.
Monday to Saturday overtime is paid at x1.5 (£32.27 per hour).
Sunday overtime is paid at x2 (£43.02 per hour).
There may be opportunities to work night shifts, with a basic rate of £32.27 per hour and an overtime rate of £43.02 per hour.
The  Plater  may have opportunities to work at other client sites, with out-of-town allowances and project bonuses available.
Candidates must bring their own PPE and tools for trade tests and when commencing the assignment.
All candidates must complete BPSS checks and be willing and eligible to undergo the process required to gain SC clearance.
