Clinical Nurse Educator

This Clinical Nurse Educator post sits within the critical care team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, working alongside the unit's current educator. The post-holder leads professional development for all critical care staff and helps shape the unit's education strategy. It is open to Band 6 or 7 critical care nurses with teaching and assessing experience, and the post-holder may need to cover the senior sister or charge nurse role.

NMC registration, a critical care course and a teaching and assessing qualification are essential.

• Lead the education and professional development of all critical care staff
• Support the unit lead nurse in developing the unit's education strategy
• Work closely with the current clinical educator
• Create an environment that values education as part of critical care philosophy
• Take on the senior sister or charge nurse clinical role as necessary

• Relevant post-registration critical care course (ENB 100 or equivalent)
• Recognised postgraduate teaching certificate, or working towards one
• Working towards a Master's in Advanced Practice or MA in clinical education
• Teaching and assessing qualification (ENB 998, City & Guilds 7307 or equivalent)

• First level NMC registration

• Significant and relevant experience in a relevant setting
• Extensive critical care experience
• Experience and evidence of teaching and assessing in practice
• Line management experience
