Youth Support Worker – Education Settings – Wirral

We are seeking dedicated Youth Support Workers to join an innovative school in Wirral, specialising in supporting boys and girls aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic, aspirational environment that values development, resilience, and care.

Location:

Wirral. Salary: £15 per hour. Contract Type:
Temporary to Permanent, Full-Time.

This Youth Support Worker role in Wirral offers an initial 12-week temporary placement with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position. The school provides a supportive, specialist day provision with a strong emphasis on fostering independence and emotional resilience among its students.

Key Duties
  • Offering day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people
  • Motivate and empower students to gain confidence and independence
  • Deliver support and advice aligned with individual support plans and keyworker requests
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team to ensure the wellbeing and progress of students
Requirements
  • Proven experience of at least 6 months working with children or within a similar social care environment
  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to engage and connect with young people effectively
  • Understanding of trauma, and the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and mental health difficulties
  • Ability to respond calmly and promptly to crisis situations
  • Emotional resilience, empathy, and a caring attitude
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
