Disabled Rehousing Coordinator

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Council's Housing Services. We are looking for a dynamic strategic thinker who is also able to be operationally client focused who is used to working at pace with a focus on delivery to high standards and the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team. Supporting the home Adaptation & Improvement Manager, Property Pool Plus (PPP) Manager and wider Housing Services Management Team to deliver their Services, namely through leading the Strategic development, co-ordination and facilitation of the required rehousing aspects of Adaptation Services & wider Housing Service’s service delivery in line with relevant Housing Services policies and other relevant Council policies, legislation and Government & LGO guidance.

About the candidate:

You will play a key role in supporting some of the most vulnerable Wirral residents who require rehousing support in connection with disability needs and will work closely with the Council's Home Adaptations & Improvement Service within Housing Services. On a day-to-day basis strategically, you will be required to forge links with numerous key and relevant partners and develop appropriate policy as well as carry a live case load of often complex clients who require support in connection with rehousing to more appropriate properties which will meet their needs.

This will require a thorough appraisal of individual circumstances, needs, risks and an understanding of the available routes and solutions to deliver/resolve through, negotiation, partnership working and influencing.

You will need to have a knowledge of rehousing challenges, as well as Council & Registered Providers responsibilities in relation to this and it would be beneficial to have knowledge and understanding of Home Adaptations, PPP, Homelessness Prevention and Registered Provider Servies to support operational & strategic activities and be willing to undergo further training as required to ensure your skills and experience are regularly updated.
