Requirements- Experience working with SQL Server and strong T‑SQL development skills
- Ability to design and build modular and reusable data components
- Understanding of data modelling, schema design and performance optimisation
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline development
- Experience using Git and version control practices
- Exposure to Azure data tools such as Azure SQL, Data Factory or Synapse
- Understanding of structured development practices and SDLC principles
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical colleagues
- Experience supporting or improving SQL Server environments
- Exposure to cloud‑based data platforms, ideally Azure
- Experience working in structured development or delivery environments
- Involvement in system improvements or modernisation initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and desired outcomes
- Design and deliver scalable, high‑quality data pipelines and models across SQL Server and Azure platforms
- Develop simple, modular, reusable data components that improve maintainability, performance, and governance
- Own end‑to‑end delivery of data solutions, including deployment, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution in Azure Dev Ops environments
- Drive continuous improvement through transparent communication, code reviews, constructive feedback, and modern data engineering practices
- Build high‑quality, well‑performing data pipelines and models using best practices
- Ensure data solutions are robust, scalable, and production‑ready
- Maintain strong standards in coding, documentation, and solution design
- Take accountability for delivering data solutions from design through deployment and support
- Ensure solutions deliver measurable business value and meet user needs
- Proactively manage and resolve issues impacting delivery or data quality
- Design flexible and adaptable data solutions that support future business needs
- Contribute to the evolution of the data platform, including adoption of Azure services
- Anticipate scaling, performance, and integration requirements
- Provide clear, proactive communication on progress, challenges, and risks
- Translate technical concepts into understandable terms for non‑technical stakeholders
- Maintain transparency in delivery and decision‑making
- Actively seek and apply feedback to improve data solutions and ways of working
- Participate in code reviews and peer discussions to strengthen quality and consistency
- Create a collaborative, open environment for sharing ideas and improvements
- Ask questions to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions where needed
