Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient VNA and Counterbalance to join our client based in Birkenhead. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate counterbalance and VNA forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
- Maintain an orderly warehouse environment by stocking shelves and ensuring products are easily accessible.
- Perform picking and packing duties for outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy in fulfilment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading lorries.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Apply mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance of warehouse equipment as needed.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience is essential
- A valid, accredited and in-date FLT Counterbalance & VNA license is essential
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems, particularly AS400, is preferred.
- Strong ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Experience in stocking, picking & packing, as well as shipping & receiving processes.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when necessary.
