Job Title: Accounting Assistant (On-site)
Location: Birmingham, AL
Salary: $55,000-$63,000

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our client's team as an Accounting Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for accuracy. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with their accounting team and gain valuable experience in various aspects of financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
• Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Provide support during audits and assist in the preparation of financial reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
