Finance Manager (Faith Based Organization)

Our client, a well-established and mission-driven organization, is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, payroll administration, contribution processing, employee benefits, reconciliations, compliance reporting, and financial reporting activities. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all financial and employee-related information while supporting the organization's long-term financial stewardship.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting or finance background, experience managing payroll and financial reporting processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage recurring deadlines in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee day-to-day financial administration, including transaction processing, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
- Process and reconcile contributions, deposits, online giving, ACH transactions, and other revenue sources.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing and maintain accurate employee payroll records.
- Administer employee benefits programs and coordinate onboarding activities for new hires.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger balances to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Monitor insurance, benefits, and compliance-related reporting requirements.
- Support annual audits by preparing financial records, reports, and requested documentation.
- Coordinate reporting related to payroll, employee benefits, PCI compliance, workers' compensation, and other regulatory requirements.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve financial or accounting issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with leadership, staff, vendors, and external service providers on financial matters.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor, employee, payroll, and financial information.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in accounting, finance, payroll administration, bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial transaction processing, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
- Experience processing payroll and managing confidential employee information.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with payroll systems, employee benefits administration, ACH processing, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, including payroll reporting and employee benefits administration.
- Experience supporting annual audits and financial reporting processes.
