Position Summary

The Staff Accountant owns the vendor side of our accounting, including accounts payable, vendor relationships, the fleet fuel program, and fixed assets, and keeps it accurate and on time. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable owning a recurring set of deadlines, and motivated by knowing their work supports a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Management
• Maintain accurate vendor records and required compliance documentation (such as W-9s and insurance certificates), and oversee 1099 reporting, related tax filings, and exemptions
• Fuel & Credit Card Administration
• Administer the organization's fleet fuel program and credit card system, including related reporting, refunds, and staff support
• Accounts Payable
• Oversee processing of vendor invoices and payments accurately and on schedule, and implement AP process improvements
• Reconcile and record month-end accruals and vendor-related entries
• Fixed Assets
• Maintain fixed asset and capital project records, record depreciation entries, and reconcile fixed asset accounts as part of month-end close
• Other
• Other duties as assigned to support department and organizational needs

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Proficiency with Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
